Registration Process

You register a passage for a day of your choice, the proof of payment is valid from two days before and three days after. Your route planning remains flexible. You can register a passage through two locks and the entire length of the canal or a so-called partial route with only one lock, where the trip ends or begins at the latest on the inland side of the other lock. Both options can be selected westbound or eastbound.

 After having paid you will receive a code by e-mail, which must be shown or communicated at the locks. Please print this code on DIN A 4 size to show it to the inspector at the top of the locks. We are currently working on a more modern, automated solution for the controls. 

When choosing the payment method "Prepayment" and "SEPA" the payment run can take up to three days and the code can only be sent to you afterwards. If you need your code faster, then please be sure to choose "Giropay - online transfer" or "credit card payment", this usually works in a few minutes.
