We would like to inform about the lock availability in Brunsbüttel and Kiel so that you are able to plan your trip accordingly. Due to construction works or unecpected events, temporary closures or delays may unfortunately occur.

In this regard, we would like to point out a special situation in Kiel-Holtenau:

Currently, recreational crafts and commercial vessels are both sent through the great lock, as the small locks are permanently out of service. For safety reasons, recreational crafts are usually only allowed to enter the lock chamber (a white interrupted light) behind the commercial vessels. Please be particularly cautious when using the Kiel-Holtenau locks.
